Personal

Manuals, product dossiers, safety data sheets, labels, packaging text, quality documents.

Formatting is part of the job

A translated document should look like the original. We work directly in editable files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign exports) so tables, headers, stamps and signatures are kept in place. For scanned PDFs and photos we recreate a clean, readable layout and mark seals, signatures and handwritten notes clearly, e.g. “[signature]” or “[stamp: Registry Office of São Paulo]”.

Official and certified documents

Many people ask for a “certified Portuguese translation”. What counts as certified depends entirely on the country and institution receiving the document — an embassy, university, immigration office or court may each have different rules, and Brazil itself requires a sworn translator (tradutor público juramentado) for many official uses. We always confirm the requirement with you first and tell you honestly what we can and cannot provide. Read more on our official document translation page.

Frequently asked questions

How is document translation priced?

Usually per word for editable files and per page or per document for short standard documents like certificates. Subject, format and deadline also matter. Quotes are free.

Can you translate a document from a photo?

Yes, as long as the text is readable. A flat, well-lit photo or scan in PDF/JPG works well.

Will names and numbers be checked?

Yes. Names, dates, registration and document numbers are checked against the original during the second-linguist review.

Are you a sworn translator in Brazil?

We do not claim sworn status. If your authority requires a Brazilian sworn translation (tradução juramentada), we will tell you before you order.
